What does this measure?

The percentage of the voting-age population (18 and over) that is registered to vote.

Why is this important?

Voter registration is a gauge of interest and participation in the political process.

How is the region performing?

Between 80% and 93% of the Mid-Hudson Valley region's voting-age population has been registered to vote since 2010, consistent with the state (excluding NYC) rates (81% to 91%). Voter registration in the region reached a high of 93% in 2024 since 2010. The 2024 rate in Columbia County, at 100%, was the highest in the region, with Orange having the lowest rate (90%).
