Dutchess County is an economically vibrant county where incomes are relatively high and the population is growing and well–educated. Nearly 60% of adults have attended college and 31% have at least a bachelor's degree, the highest level in the Mid–Hudson Valley region. Yet, rates of child abuse are rising, housing is increasingly unaffordable, and economic and educational disparities persist among residents of different races and ethnicities. The statistics and analysis in this report illuminate the County's strengths and weaknesses and may help point the way toward future community priorities.
